The China Overseas Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is a brand activity held by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) to implement the talent work deployment of the CPC Central Committee, serve overseas scientific and technological talents, support the high-quality development of the economy, and contribute to the construction of talent centers and innovation highlands. Since its inception in 2016, the competition has successfully been held for eight sessions, attracting more than 5,400 innovation and entrepreneurship projects from home and abroad. Over 200 international organizations, investment institutions, industrial parks, central enterprises, and science and technology intermediary agencies have participated in the competition. The competition focuses on cities such as Chengdu, Changchun, Hefei, Ningbo, Hangzhou, Harbin, Qingdao, and Wuhan, radiating across the country and landing more than 100 innovative projects. The competition effectively gathers the wisdom of global science and technology talents, promoting the integrated development of science and technology and the economy, becoming an important platform for overseas science and technology talents and teams to come to China (or return home) for innovation and entrepreneurship.

The 2024 China Overseas Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, as part of the 26th Annual Meeting of the China Association for Science and Technology, is hosted by CAST and the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The competition aims to promote a more active, open, and effective talent policy, strengthen international talent exchanges, support overseas talents in sharing China’s development opportunities, and fully participate in the construction of the modern industrial system, accelerating the development of new quality productivity. The competition includes five tracks: life and health, digital economy, green low carbon, advanced manufacturing, and future industry and cultural creativity. We welcome eligible individuals and teams to actively register for the competition and work together to realize the dream of innovation leading to the future.
